RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO APPLY FOR A GRANT FROM THE MARIN COMMUNITY
FOUNDATION FOR A JOINT LIBRARY AUTOMATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, The Marin Community Foundation makes grants from
the Leonard and Beryl Buck Trust charitable and educational
purposes in Marin County; and
WHEREAS, The San Rafael Public Library with the five other
public library jurisdictions in Marin County meets the
informational and educational needs of the residents of Marin by
providing a comprehensive program of library services; and
WHEREAS, The public libraries in Marin wish to increase
access of Marin residents to materials and information available
in Marin public libraries by providing an electronic catalog of
the collections of all public libraries in Marin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby authorizes staff to apply to the Marin
Community Foundation with the other Marin library jurisdictions
for a grant to produce a patron access CD-ROM catalog containing
all of the holdings of all Marin County Public Libraries.
