RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
ACCEPTING DONATION OF $10,000 FROM
AMEX LIFE ASSURANCE COMPANY FOR
CHILD CPRE SCHOLARSHIPS AT
PICKLEWEED CHILDREN'S CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael operates seven
child care programs at various sites throughout the city;. and
WHEREAS, the City recently relocated and expanded
the Pickleweed Children's Center in the East San Rafael
neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the City endeavors to acquire scholarship
funds to assist disadvantaged families with the program fees;
and
WHEREAS, Amex Life Assurance Company, an American
Express subsidiary headquartered in San Rafael, recognizes the
need for affordable child care services in the community; and
WHEREAS, Amex Life Assurance Company has donated
$10,000 to the City for childcare scholarships for the new
Pickleweed Children's Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael
City Council to accept the $10,000 donation and on the behalf of
the community does congratulate and thank Amex Life Assurance
Company for its community commitment and leadership in the
child care arena.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San
Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of
the Council of said City held on the 3rd day of October
1988 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCIT,MEMBERS: Boro, Frugoli, Thayer & Vice -Mayor Breiner
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Mayor Mulryan
