GEORGE JUILLY
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council appointed George Juilly as an original
member of the Design Review Board on March 20, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the Design Review Board has played a major role in improving the
appearance of the City's man-made environment by stimulating creative
design and preserving balance and harmony in neighborhoods and
business areas; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of the Design Review Board's importance, the City
Council adopted Ordinance 1502 on May 6, 1985, establishing a
permanent Board and appointed George Juilly on June 17, 1985, to a
two year term at his request; and
WHEREAS, during his more than nine years of service on the Design Review Board,
George Juilly has given the City invaluable guidance to the functioning,
appearance and locations of buildings, improvements and landscaping so
as to maintain and enhance a balance between private prerogatives
and the welfare of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council hereby adopts
this resolution of appreciation in recognition of this outstanding
citizen's service to the City of San Rafael.
