RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
DENYING AN APPEAL OF
THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S DENIAL
OF EXCEPTIONS TO AN ADOPTED SIGN PROGRAM
AT 530 FRANCISCO BOULEVARD WEST
WHEREAS, on July 6, 1987, the City Council considered
the appeal of the unanimous Planning Commission denial of exceptions
to an adopted sign program at 530 Francisco Boulevard West;
and
WHEREAS, the appellant was represented and spoke
in support of the appeal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
upholds the Planning Commission denial of exceptions to an
adopted sign program for the following reasons:
The proposal is inconsistent with the adopted sign
program for the building in that signage would be
placed in a location not specified in the sign program
and an additional sign not permitted by the sign
program is requested. Approval of the exceptions
would undermine the purposes of the adopted sign
program which are to provide consistency of sign
appearance, size and location as tenants change over
time and to harmonize signage with the design of
the building.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council
of said City on MONDAY , the THIRD day of AUGUST ,
1987, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
