WHEREAS, in November 1980 the City 01' San Rafael hired Paul Jensen as
an Associate Planner and he achieved merit step advances and
Progressed to increasingly more responsible assignments including
serving as Acting Planning Director starting in 1981; and
WHEREAS, After the Council approved establishment of a raid-manage.mient
position in the Planning Department, Paul was appointed Acting
Principal Planner and then was permanently named Principal Planner
in July 1986; and
WHEREAS, Paul has been involved in some of the: more important community
development projects of the City of San Rafael including but in no
way limited to the award winning RAB Motors facility, the
McPhail's Home Improvement Center; the enclosed and remodeled
Northgate Mall and the YMCA's Marin County facility along with
developing San Rafael's first Second Dwelling Unit Ordinance and
efficiently supervising the current. Planning Division since his
appointment as Principal Planner;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council hereby
co=iends and thanks Paul Jensen for his almost seven years of dis-
tinguished professional planning service to the City of San Rafael
in a manner that, brought him the respect and regard of his fellow
workers, appointed officials on the Planning Commission, Design
Review Board and Cultural Affairs Commission, the development com-
munity and the numerous agencies, organizations and individuals
involved in community development in the City of San Rafael.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council herebv extends its
best wishes to Paul Jensen for success and prosperity in all his
future professional endeavors.
