PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF 11PPRECIATION
TO
WILLIAM R. FORDE
WHEREAS, William R. Forde has been named Marin Builders
Exchange Construction Man of the Year; and
WHEREAS, he has worked in the construction industry since
the day he could begin manual labor, being employed by his father
at E. A. Forde Company, which began Engineering Construction work
in Marin in the early 1920's; and
WHEREAS, Bill and his brother Ed bought E. A. Forde Company
in 1947, and in 1970 Bill bought out two brothers and formed W. R.
Forde Associates with two partners; and
WHEREAS, Bill's leadership qualities, his dedication to
serving the Construction Industry and the community, his
philosophy that work is one's blessing, and his dedication and
generosity make him uniquely qualified as Man of the Year; and
WHEREAS, the list of his activities and support in
charitable groups, service organizations, academic societies,
church and youth groups is too lengthy to be enumerated here;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City
Council expresses its appreciation to Bill Forde for his outstand-
ing contributions to our community and to the quality of life in
Marin County, and for enriching the many lives he has touched.
