RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL SUPPORTING THE SAN RAFAEL PUBLIC EDUCATION
FOUNDATION'S "BACK TO SCHOOL" CAMPAIGN
WHEREAS, there is a $700 million dollar surplus in the
State of California Treasury; and
WHEREAS, these monies are being returned to the residents
of California in the form of state tax rebates; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Public Education Foundation has
established a "Back to School" campaign urging all San Rafael
citizens to share their state income tax rebates with the schools
by endorsing the checks to the San Rafael Elementary School
District, the Dixie Elementary School District, or the San Rafael
High School District; and
WHEREAS, these tax deductible contributions would be used
to purchase textbooks for the classrooms, library books, science
laboratory equipment and other important materials for the schools;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council supports
the San Rafael Public Education Foundation's "Back to School"
campaign to encourage the citizens of San Rafael to share their
tax rebates with the schools by endorsing their rebate checks
to the San Rafael Elementary School District, the Dixie Elementary
School District, or the San Rafael High School District.

hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
