RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF
UP TO $6,000 FROM UNALLOCATED RESERVES FOR
THE REMOVAL OF WATER HYACINTHS FROM CITY -
OWNED POND ADJACENT TO SMITH RANCH ROAD
WHEREAS, at the meeting of March 16, 1987, the San Rafael
City Council heard comments and reviewed the staff report for the
removal of water hyacinths from the City -owned pond adjacent to Smith
Ranch Road; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration, the Council accepted
said report and directed staff to remove the water hyacinths.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City
Council directs staff to eradicate the water hyacinths by mechani-
cally removing the plants with the aid of the Marin/Sonoma Mosquito
Abatement District, and authorizes an appropriation of up to $6,000
from unallocated reserves for said plant removal.

hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City
on Monday, the 6th day of April, 1987, by the following vote, to wit:
