RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL DESIGNATING JUNE 13, 1987 AS
CANAL COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY
WHEREAS, as an outgrowth of several community meetings
involving residents, business persons, property owners and City
Officials, a Canal Beautification Committee has been formed to plan
for the first clean-up day in the Canal area; and
WHEREAS, this will be an educational and consciousness
raising effort designed to improve community relations through group
activity; and
WHEREAS, volunteers are needed to help make the day a
great success; and
WHEREAS, through the efforts of everybody - kids, parents,
relatives, residents, businesses, the neighborhood will be made the
way it should be ... clean, safe, and friendly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City
Council hereby designates June 13, 1987 as Canal Community Clean-up
Day and is delighted to join with the Canal Community Alliance and
the Canal Community in sponsoring the first Canal Community Clean-up
Day.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City
on Monday, the 1st day of June 1987, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
