RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
NOMINATING THE MARIN HOUSING CENTER
FOR THE BAY AREA COUNCIL HOUSING AWARD
WHEREAS, in order to recognize local government efforts
which address the region's housing needs, the Bay Area Council
is conducting the first Bay Area Housing Awards; and
WHEREAS, the Bay Area Council invited directors of
planning and community development departments in the Bay Area
to identify nominees for the awards; and
WHEREAS, the Marin Housing Center's emergency shelter
program at 56 Harbor Street in San Rafael has been identified
as a project worthy of nomination for the Bay Area Council's
Best Affordable Housing Development Award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael
City Council does hereby endorse the nomination of the Marin
Housing Center's emergency shelter program for the Bay Area
Council's Best Affordable Housing Development Award because,
in spite of numerous permit, funding and timing constraints,
the Marin Housing Center has established and is successfully
operating this emergency housing shelter for men, women and
children experiencing homelessness on a short term basis in
Marin County.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council
of said City on Monday , the 15th day of June
1987, by the following vote, to wit:
