4HEREAS, the San Rafael City Council appointed Michael R. Peregrin to
the Design Review Board, an informal advisory body to the
Redevelopment Agency, on March 20, 1978; and
•7HEREAS, the Design Review Board has played a major role in improving
the appearance of the City's man-made environment by
stimulating creative design and preserving balance and
harmony in neighborhoods and business areas; and
.-THEREAS, during his eight year appointment on the Design Review
Board, Michael Peregrin has given the City invaluable
guidance to the functioning, appearance and locations of
buildings and improvements so as to maintain and enhance a
balance between private prerogatives and the welfare of the
community; and
WHEREAS, Michael Peregrin participated in the formalization of the
Design Review Board in 1985, transitioning from a very
informal board to an advisory body designated to oversee
design review matters on a Citywide basis; and
RHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council is appreciative of this
dedicated public service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council
hereby adopts this resolution of appreciation in
recognition of this outstanding citizen's service to the
City of San Rafael.
