RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AMENDING RESOLUTION 7432 AUTHORIZING FALKIRK STAFF TO APPLY
TO THE CALIFORNIA SKATE OFFICE OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION FOR
A GRANT OF $51,973 IN MATCHING FUNDS FOR EXTERIOR PAINTING
AND REPAIRS OF FALKIRK.
WHEREAS, This resolution; amends resolution 7432 to include
language acceptable to both the City of San Rafael and to
the State Office of Historic Preservatiorn, and to include
revised project costs; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature under the California Park and
Recreational Act of 1984 has authorized the establishment of
a Historic Preservation Grant Program, providing matching
funds to the political subdivisions of the State for
historic preservation projects; and
WHEREAS, the California Office of 1-iistoric Praservation in
the Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for
the administration of the program within the State, setting
up necessary rules and procedures governing application by
local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said adopted procedures established by the
Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to
certify by resolution the approval of applications and the
availability of local matching funds prior to submission of
said applications to the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City
Council hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for the
Historic Preservation Grant assistance for the
exterior painting and repairs to Falkirk; and
2. Appoints the Director of Library/Cultural Affairs
or his authorized deputy as agent of the City of
San Rafael -to coordinate, process, and execute all
contracts, agreements, amendments and ancillary
documents within the scope of the attached appli-
cation; and
3. Agrees that all required matching funds (40% of
project costs Or approximately $34,649) will be
provided for the project.
4. Agrees to enter into a grant agreement with the
Office of Historic Preservation upon )resolution of
San Rafael City Council at the time of funding.
