A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DESIGNATING THE WEEK
OF NOVEMBER 17 THROUGH 22, 1986 AS:
WINTER STORM PREPAREDNESS WEEK
WHEREAS, during February 1986, California suffered severe
winds and rainstorms which resulted in 13 deaths, 67 injuries, and
more than $375 million in property damage; and
WHEREAS, another severe series of storms this year could
adversely affect the entire State; and
WHEREAS, all San Rafael residents should take reasonable
precautions during winter to protect themselves from loss of life
and property, and reduce the effects of winter on our energy,
resources and economy; and
WHEREAS, under the coordination of the State Office of
Emergency Services and the California Department of Water Resources,
the City of San Rafael is observing Winter Storm Preparedness Week
to educate the public on this important issue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of San Rafael does hereby proclaim November 17-22, 1986, as
Winter Storm Preparedness Week in the City of San Rafael and urges
its residents to "Be Winter Wise".
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City the 17th day of November , 1986, by the following vote,
to wit:
