RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
APPROPRIATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 FROM THE
DAVIDSON BEQUEST FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES TO DEVELOP A
LIBRARY BUILDING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Public Library has served the
informational, educational, and recreational needs of the
community for almost 100 years; and
WHEREAS, the present seventy -five-year-old facility
housing the San Rafael Public Library is inadequate to meet
the current needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, a planning study of library services in Marin
County conducted by the firm of Joseph Matthews and
Associates has recommended that the present facility housing
the San Rafael Public Library be replaced; and
WHEREAS, the first step in dealing with issue of the
library facility is to develop a building program which will
outline a plan of action to guide decision-making.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby appropriates an amount not to
exceed $25,000 from the Davidson Bequest for consultant
services to develop a library building program.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted at a Regular meeting
of the City Council of said City held on Mondav the
1st day of December , 1986, by the following
vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
