TO
RICHARD R. ENDY
WHEREAS, Dick Endy, serving as Superintendent of Public
Works, has been employed with the City of San Rafael for 23
years and his intimate knowledge of our systems and
infrastructure has become an invaluable asset to our City
particularly in emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, Dick has taken on increased responsibilities
demonstrating his competence and has instituted a maintenance
program for the City's twelve storm water pump stations; and
WHEREAS, this preventive maintenance program has been
extremely effective and is evidenced by the lack of breakdowns
during critical periods and Dick's personal dedication and
concern for the citizens of San Rafael often means that he
is first out on the streets, spending many long, cold, rainy,
sleepless nights, without additional compensation monitoring
the City's drainage facilities and clearing catch basins; and
WHEREAS, Dick's extremely conscientious efforts have
prevented what could have been the disaster of 1986.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City
Council hereby designates DICK ENDY as the CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR for his unfailing loyalty and dedication
to duty this twentieth -fourth day of Alarch, nineteen hundred
and eighty six.
