HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 7169 (28 Day Work Period)RESOLUTION NO. 7169 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL ESTABLISHING A TWENTY-EIGHT DAY WORK PERIOD FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT EMPLOYEES FOR PURPOSES OF COMPLIANCE WITH FLSA GUIDELINES WHEREAS, the Supreme Court case Garcia Vs. San Antonio Metropolitan Transit Authority determined that the Fair Labor Standards Act applies to State and local government employers; and WHEREAS, the guidelines outlined in the regulations for the Fair Labor Standards Act require that the governing bodies designate work periods for groups of employees; and WHEREAS, specific work periods are permitted for Law Enforcement, Fire Protection and Miscellaneous Employees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council establishes a twenty-eight day work period for Law Enforcement employees for purposes of compliance with FLSA guidelines. I, JEANNE M.
