A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL SUPPORTING THE "AVOID THE 13" DRIVING
UNDER THE INFLUENCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, alcohol consumption by party goers is a
traditional activity during the Christmas/New Year holiday season;
and
WHEREAS, alcohol related accidents are one of the leading
causes of deaths in this County today; and
WHEREAS, the 13 law enforcement agencies of Marin County
are united in their effort to remove drinking drivers from the
streets of Marin County and its cities; and
WHEREAS, the primary purpose of the "Avoid the 13" program
is to save lives and reduce DUI related traffic accidents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of San Rafael hereby supports the "Avoid the 13" program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the period from December 21,
1985, through January 2, 1986, be declared "Avoid the 13" days.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City on Monday , the 16th day of December ,
1985, by the following vote, to wit:
