ROBERT F. BEYER
WHEREAS, ROBERT F. BEYER has served as the City Manager for the
City of San Rafael since November 1, 1980, and during his
association with San Rafael, Bob exemplified many characteristics
much appreciated by the Council, staff and the community,
chiefly his responsiveness, community involvement, respect
for individuals and value of "the process" in achieving goals; and
WHEREAS, many accomplishments for the City of San Rafael occurred
under Bob's leadership, not the least of which include the opening
of the Pickleweed Community Center, the adoption of the
Northgate Activity Center Plan, the management of two years
of disastrous storms in our community, the completion of the
project at Fourth & A. Streets, and the renewal of the
Redevelopment Agency; and
WHEREAS, within the organization Bob has worked to develop a coordinated
management team to create an atmosphere of positive and
respectful employee relations; to implement an automated
information system; and to begin a program of
supervisory/management training and development; and
WHEREAS, Bob has performed his duties as City Manager with enthusiasm,
honesty, integrity and dedication, and an undying positive
attitude.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council expresses its
deep and sincere appreciation to ROBERT F. BEYER for his
four years of service to the City of San Rafael, and for his
invaluable contributions to the community and our organization
which emanated from his unique style in the performance of
those responsibilities. We wish Bob success in his new position
and an uture endeavors.
