RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAN RAFAEL
COMMITTING TRAFFIC MITIGATION FEES IN EAST SAN
RAFAEL TO FUND A PORTION OF I580/BELLAM BOULE-
VARD INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has
completed a Special Study Report as directed by the California
Transportation Commission; and,
WHEREAS, the above referenced Special Study identified
deficiencies and the need for improvements at the I580/Bellam Boule-
vard Interchange; and,
WHEREAS, costs have been identified for this improvement
work to be on the order of $19 million; and,
WHEREAS, using California Transportation Commission Inter-
change cost sharing criteria, this work is the complete responsibility
of the State of California; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is aware that no funds are avail-
able in the foreseeable future for this work; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need to complete
these improvements in a timely manner by committing Traffic Mitigation
Fees collected in East San Rafael to fund a portion of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby commits between $4.5 million and $9 million
collected as traffic mitigation fees in East San Rafael to the con-
struction of improvements at the I580/Bellam Boulevard Interchange
as described in the Special Study mentioned above.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
California, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
Council of said City held on the 15th day of April, 1985, by the
following vote, to wit:
