A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
APPROVING THE 1984/85 TO 1989/90 MAJOR NON-INTERSI•ATE PROJECTS
IN MARIN COUNTY AS RECO�NIENDED BY THE MARIN COU;%!TY
URBAN SYSTEM COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the State Legislature adopted AB 402 which requires the
adoption by Metropolitan. Transportation Commission of a regional transpor-
tation program by April, and
WHEREAS, the staff of MTC has recommended that the projects
selected for inclusion into the TIP for Federal Aid Primary (FAP), Federal
Aid Interstate (FAI), or State only funds be supported by the community,
and
WHEREAS, the Marin County Urban System Committee did meet to
review the program and projects which had been submitted for consideration
as part of a five-year program, and
WHEREAS, the Darin County Urban System Committee did adopt the
1984/85 to 1989/90 listing of candidate Federal Aid Primary (FAP) projects
on November 7, 1983,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City
of San Rafael does hereby approve the following projects and submits
said projects for inclusion in the MTC Regional Transportation Improvement
Program (TIP), and the California Transportation Commission (CTC), State
Transportation Improvement Program (STIP):
Projects listed it order of priority
1. Construct HOV and Auxiliary Lanes from Mission Street in
San Rafael to Oiller Creek Interchange. (18.5 11.)
2. Construct New Northbourd On -Ramp at Manuel Freitas
Interchange. (0.7 P-. )
3. Construct Overcrossing at Merrydale Road (3.4 M.,
2.4 ?:. Local)
4. Construct Southbound HOV Lane from Route 37 to Miller
Creek Interchange. (5.0 M.)
5. Construct Southbound Auxiliary Lane and Frontage Road
between Second Street, San Rafael, and Route 17 Over -
crossing (0.5 M.)
6. Reconstruct/Relocate Route 101/17 Interchange, including
Southbound On and Off Ramps with modifications near
Bellam Interchange. (5.0 M.)
7. Modify Northbound Off and On Ramps at Greenbrae Inter-
change to eliminate conflict with local roads. (5.0 M.)

8. Construct Northbound and Southbound Auxiliary Lanes
between Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Route 17. (8.0 M.)
9. Modify Lucas Valley Interchange, including New Southbound
Off and On Ramps, and Widen Undercrossing to four lanes.
(4.0 M.)
10. Construct Northbound Auxiliary Lane between Ignacio
Boulevard Interchange and Route 37. (1.0 M.)
11. Modify Northbound Off and On Ramps of Strawberry. (0.8 M.)
12. Construct New Interchange and Frontage Road from 1.7 to
4.0 Miles North of Atherton Avenue Interchange. (7.0 M.)
13. Reconstruct Waldo Interchange to Urban Diamond. (5.0 M.)
14. Modify Route 1/Panoramic Highway Intersection. (0.5 M.)
15. Construct Southbound HOV between Atherton Avenue Inter-
change and Route 37. (8.0 M.)
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council -of said City on the 3rd
day of January , 1984, by the following vote, to wit:
