A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL ISSUING A CERTIFICATE OF CONVENIENCE
AND NECESSITY TO RADIO CAB COMPANY
WHEREAS, th- Radio Cab Company submitted an application for taxi
service pursuant to the requirements of San Rafael Municipal Code 10.60,
Vehicles for Hire; and
WHEREAS, city staff and the City Council reviewed all documents
submitted therein; and
WHEREAS, a hearing regarding said application was held on January
16, 1984 and February 6, 1984, at which time public testimony was heard;
and
WHEREAS, numerous petitions and letters were presented in support
of additional taxi service; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Radio Cab Company has the
resources to provide additional taxi service; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the applicant is financially
responsible and that it is likely that the proposed service will be
permanent, responsible, and safisfactory; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed equipment would
provide acceptable service; and
WHEREAS, Radio Cab Company has agreed to set rates in accordance
with City Resolution No.6286 and to provide a senior citizen discount
fare; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the addition of a second taxi
cab company would not have an adverse effect on traffic or parking; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the demands of public conve-
nience require such additional taxi service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City Council that
a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity be issued to Radio Cab Company
to conduct a taxi service in the City of San Rafael.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on the
21st day of February , 1984, by the following vote, to wit:
