PRESENTS THIS
TO
VERNON H. NICHOLSON
NO. 81

WHEREAS, The San Rafael City Council appointed VERNON H.
"NICK" NICHOLSON to the Park and Recreation
Commission in May, 1974, having knowledge of
his service as Director of the Terra Linda Park
and Recreation District and the Terra Linda
Community Services District prior to the
District's annexation to the City of San Rafael;
and
WHEREAS, Since that time "Nick" has served continuously
on the Park and Recreation Commission in a most
effective manner, giving freely of his time and
expertise to benefit the City of San Rafael and
its residents, as well as the surrounding com-
munities; and
WHEREAS, "Nick" twice served as Chairman of the Park and
Recreation Commission, during which times he
displayed a quiet, capable leadership; and
WHEREAS, "Nick" has always been a pleasure to work with
and to know, and the City staff, Park and
Recreation Commissioners, and the San Rafael
City Council wish him well upon his retirement
from the Park and Recreation Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the the Mayor and City
Council commend VERNON H. "NICK" NICI-IOLSON, and
express sincere thanks for his diligent service
to the City of San Rafael.
