DISCUSSION: At the Regular Meeting of the City Council on January 16, 2018, the City Council called for applications to fill the unexpired five-year term of the City Clerk, due to retirement of Esther Beirne. There were 13 applications received for City Clerk by the deadline of January 31, 2018, of which the three most qualified candidates were interviewed at a Special Council Meeting on February 13, 2018. City Council deliberated on the candidates interviewed and a motion was made to appoint Lindsay Lara to the City Clerk unexpired five-year term that expires on December 7, 2020. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact for this action. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve staff recommendation.
