RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council interview the following applicants to fill one four-year term on
the Fire Commission, with terms to expire the end of March 2022.

BACKGROUND:
At the meeting of February 5, 2018, the City Council called for applications to fill one four-year term on
the Fire Commission to the end of March 2022, due to the expiration of term of Dr. Stephen Mizroch.
Two applications were received in the City Clerk’s Office by the deadline of Tuesday, February 27,
2018.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: The call for applications for the Fire Commission was advertised in Snapshot
(the City Manager’s e-newsletter), the City website, NextDoor and Facebook social media platforms.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve staff recommendation.

3/31/18, and the possibility of an opening on the SR Fire Commission, I

I recognize that this is only the end of his first term and there is the

The Fire Department is on the cusp of modernizing three of its stations. I have
been supportive of the City's efforts to raise funds to bring this dream to fruition.
I would be grateful to serve one more term on the Fire Commission to help
nurture the evolution of the new facilities, focusing especially on the Public Safety
complex and its historical lobby displays.
