TO
MARGARET STAWOWY
WHEREAS, Margaret has worked for the San Rafael Public Library for over 10 years as a Children's
Services Librarian; and
WHEREAS, In addition Margaret is a role model for her colleagues at the library, always goes the
extra mile to help someone, is well regarded by children and caregivers in our community
for her book recommendation skills, dynamic story times, and enriching STEAM
programs.; and
WHEREAS, Margaret is a genius at collaborative programming having helped organize All Staff Day,
coordinated our Summer Reading Challenge, planned our Sun Party for the recent
eclipse, and partnering with the Bay Area Discovery Museum to bring their pilot project,
the Try it Truck, to the library for the enjoyment of San Rafael families; and
WHEREAS, Margaret is a consummate team player who works collaboratively with her library
coworkers to ensure that the library collection provides the best value to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Margaret's skill at writing poetry enriches both the library and the community at large -
especially with the publishing of her poetry collection entitled Keeper of the Pond; and
WHEREAS, Margaret naturally motivates and maintains a strong personal commitment with children
and families who visit the library; and
WHEREAS, Margaret is a true public servant; her vast knowledge of early childhood education,
children's literature, program planning, and interpersonal communication makes the City
of San Rafael a great place to live and work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael do
hereby extend their congratulations and appreciation to Margaret Stawowy as Employee of the Quarter
for the 4th quarter of 2017.
