RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESER-
VATION GRANT FOR FALKIRK COMMUNITY CULTURAL CENTER
WHEREAS, the Congress under Publ ic Law 89-665 has authorized the
establ ishment of a Natio nal Htstoric Preservation Grants-in-Aid Program, pro-
viding matching funds to the State of Cal ifornia and its political sub-
divisions f or Ili s tori c pres e rvation, survey, planning, development, and ac-
quisition project s ; alld
WHEREAS, th e Cal if orn ia Office of Historic Preservation is respon-
sible fOI -t he ad lll i n islr a ti o n o f the program within the State, setting up
necessary rul ~s and procedures governing appl ication by local agencies under
tlie program; and
WHEREAS , s aid adopted procedures establ ished by the Cal ifornia Office
of Historic Pres e r vatio n r e quire the appl icant to certify by resolution the
approval 01 appl i c at ions and the avai labi I i ty of local matching funds prior to
submission of sai'd appli c ation s to the State:
NOW, THE REF ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of San Rafael
he reby:
I . Approv e s t he fi I i ng of an appl ication for the National Historic
PI-eservatioll Gr ant s-i n -Aid a ss i s tance for Falkirk Cultural Centerl and
2. Appoints the City Manager or his authorized deputy as agent of
the city to coordinate, process and execute all contracts, agreements, amend-
ments and anci llary documents within the scope of the application; and
3. Agrees that al I required local matching funds will be provided
for the project.
