A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL APPROVING A $200.00 CONTRIBUTION TO
AMERICAN LEGION POST NO. 179 TO HELP PAY EXPENSES
OF TWO VIETNAM VETERANS TO ATTEND THE VIETNAM
VETERANS MEMORIAL DEDICATION CEREMONY IN
WASHINGTON. D.C.. TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 10-14, 1982
WHEREAS, Robert Stack, member of American Legion
Post No. 179, San Anselmo, and in conjunction with San Rafael's
American Legion Wilkins Post, requested the City Council of the
City of San Rafael to contribute toward sending two Vietnam
veterans to Washington, D.C. to attend the dedication ceremony of
the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to be held November 10-14, 1982;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of San Anselmo will
also be asked to contribute; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Charter, Article VII,
Section 13, enables the Council to adopt an ordinance or resolu-
tion authorizing expenditure of money not to exceed the sum of
one thousand dollars in any one fiscal year for advertising
purposes or for the celebration of such public events or demon-
strations as the Council may deem proper.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City
Council that a $200.00 contribution is hereby approved to help
send two Vietnam veterans to Washington, D.C., one from San Rafael
and one from San Anselmo, to attend the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Dedication Ceremony to be held November 10-14, 1982, as repre-
sentatives of their respective posts and cities.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City on Monday , the 1st day of November 1982, by the
following vote, to wit:
