RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL APPROVING THE GRANT APPLICA-
TION TO THE SAN FRANCISCO FOUNDATION FOR FUNDS
FOR THE PICKLEWEED PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
WHEREAS, the purpose of the requested grant is to match funds
available to permit the construction of the community center and complete
outdoor improvements to the park; and
WHEREAS, the basic purpose of the project is essentially to provide
a community building and park facilities for social, cultural, recrea-
tional and educational activities to benefit residents of the Canal
community and San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the amount requested from the San Francisco Foundation
is $500,000; and
WHEREAS, the grant proposal is a joint request from the City of
San Rafael and the Canal Community Alliance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of San Rafael gives staff permission to submit a grant in the amount of
$500,000 to the San Francisco Foundation to assist in the Pickleweed
Park Improvement project.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly intro-
duced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on Monday, the 3rd day of May, 1982, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Frugoli, Jensen & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Miskimen
