RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
DESIGNATING A PORTION OF SAN PEDRO ROAD (RIVIERA TO
BISCAYNE DRIVE) AS A POSTED TOW -AWAY ZONE
WHEREAS, residents of the McNear's Beach area have
experienced continuing problems with vehicular and pedestrian
traffic emanating primarily from usage and patronage of McNear's
Beach Park since 1977; and
WHEREAS, although "No Parking Zones" have been imple-
mented within this area of San Pedro Road, persons violate said
zone restrictions and continue to park in said location, despite
the imposition of parking citations and attendant fines; and
WHEREAS, following meetings between City and County
officials, a recommendation resulted whereby said "No Parking
Zones" be modified to "Tow -Away Zones"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section
22651(n) the City Council is authorized, by passage of Resolution,
to remove standing or parked vehicles from posted "Tow -Away Zones";
and.
WHEREAS, in order to implement said authority, it is
necessary for the City Council to designate that area described
in Attachment A, attached hereto and incorporated by reference,
as a "Tow -Away Zone".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City
Council that the area of San Pedro Road, from Riviera to Biscayne
Drive, as shown on Attachment A, be and hereby is designated
as a "Tow -Away Zone".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
is authorized and directed to post said area with "Tow -Away
Zone" signs.

hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City on Monday, the 7th day of June , 1982, by the following
