HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6330 (Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Run)RESOLUTION NO. 6330 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE RICHMOND -SAN RAFAEL BRIDGE RUN SPONSORED BY THE COLLEGE OF PERSONOLOGY WHEREAS, July 18, 1982, marks the occasion of the running of the Richmond -San Rafael Bridge Run, the sponsor of which is the College of Personology, a non-profit organization; and WHEREAS, the proceeds of the run will aid in further research and educational programs at the College of Personology; and WHEREAS, the Richmond -San Rafael Bridge Run promises to be one of the great races in the state, as it will allow partici- pants to run across the spectacular Bridge spanning the North Bay; and WHEREAS, abundant cooperation has been received from the California Highway Patrol, Department of Transportation, Richmond Police, and the San Rafael Police to make this an outstanding race; and WHEREAS, the sponsoring organization has indicated that it has made necessary arrangements with appropriate traffic control, law enforcement and other authorities to assure that proper safety measures are taken along the route of the run; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael, California does hereby affirm its support for the proposed run, as being a civic event contributing to the benefit and well-being of the community and, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of San Rafael, California does hereby authorize the closure of the upper deck of the Richmond -San Rafael Bridge for the period of time necessary ORIGINAL 33� b RESOLUTION NO. 6330 to permit a run from 8:30 A.M. to 10;00 A.M. with the Bridge as a part of the course for a run sponsored by the College of Personology, Inc. on July 18, 1982.
