RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
ESTABLISHING VOLUNTARY FEES FOR THE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT (B.I.D.)
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1356, passed November 19,
1979, the San Rafael City Council established a Business Improve-
ment District pursuant to enabling authority within Streets and
Highways Code Section 36501 et seq. for those purposes stated
therein; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance created an annual fee for all
business establishments, financial institutions, services and
professionals within a designated area of downtown San Rafael;
and
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1435 , passed by the
San Rafael City Council on July 19 , 1982, said boundaries
were amended and financial institutions, services, professionals
and property owners excluded from mandatory payment o -f fees for
B.I.D. membership; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance expressly permits financial
institutions, services, professionals, and property owners within
the B.I.D. to become B.I.D. members through voluntary payment of
fees as follows:

Financial Institutions ......... $150.00
Services ....................... 75.00
Professionals .................. 50.00
Property Owners ................ 75.00;
WHEREAS, any business entity outside the boundaries of
the B.I.D., whether financial, service or professional or property
owner may become a voluntary member of the B.I.D. by paying the
corresponding fee as a member within the B.I.D.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City
Council does hereby adopt the fee schedule for voluntary members
of the B.I.D. as set forth herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council may amend
this Resolution of voluntary fee payments from time to time.

hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
