RESOLUTION NO. 6393
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESGUITION OF ilPPRECIMIGN
TO
IRENE K. McKEAN
WHEREAS, IRENE K. McKEAN, after giving nineteen years of devoted
service as the personal secretary for five Chiefs of the
San Rafael Police Department, has retired; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as the Chief's secretary, she has consis-
tently discharged her duties in a courteous and conscien-
tious manner in her dealings with her fellow employees
and the general public; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as the Chief's secretary, she has performed
the duties of personnel officer, bookkeeper, payroll clerk,
cashier, confidant and personification of the title "girl
Friday"; and
WHEREAS, In periods of stress and adversity common to the law enforce-
ment profession, she maintained a cheerful spirit and was an
example of courage to all; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure as president of the San Rafael Employees,
Association, her leadership gave the Association new
strength and growth to the benefit of both the membership
and the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael, in grateful acknowledgement of IRENE K. MCKEAN'S
outstanding record of service to the City of San Rafael, its
employees, and residents, expresses sincere appreciation and
best wishes for a very long, happy and healthful retirement.
