A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL ENDORSING THE SAN RAFAEL PUBLIC
EDUCATION FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, The San Rafael Public Education Foundation is a
non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of public
education in the City of San Rafael; functioning as a vehicle for
support, communication and cooperation to link the San Rafael and
Dixie Schools with community resources; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation's purpose is to raise money and
to allocate it for programs for which public funding is not available,
accepting proposals from the school sites for projects designed by
teachers, principals, parents and others; and
WHEREAS, The Foundation's goal for the first school year,
September 1982 to June 1982, is to raise $50,000 to fund up to 25
projects; and
WHEREAS, The Foundation works with schools and other school
benefiting organizations to ensure proper consideration of projects
and to increase community support; and
WHEREAS, The Foundation accepts contributions of all sizes
from individuals, corporations, and Foundations with all contributions
benefiting schools.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
San Rafael expresses its support for the San Rafael Public Education
Foundation, and encourages the community to contribute wholeheartedly
to the Foundation's goal for the first school year.
