HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6239 (Purchase Police Patrol Vehicles)RESOLUTION NO. 6239 A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SEVEN POLICE PATROL VEHICLES UTILIZING EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUNDS WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council authorized City Staff to solicit bids for seven police patrol vehicles; and WHEREAS, specificiations were drawn and bids were solicited for this item; and WHEREAS, these bids have been received by the City Staff and; WHEREAS, the low bid received was from Steve Snyder Chevrolet of San Rafael for a total of $71,227.70. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City Council that the following actions be taken: 1. That all bids received be rejected because of the excessive price for these vehicles. 2. That staff be authorized to purchase 7 Dodge Diplomats from the State of California using state bid for a price of $56,217.00. 3. That 3 vehicles be purchased immediately and an additional 4 vehicles be purchased at the end of March 1982. I. JEANNE M.
