RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SAN RAFAEL,
MARIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING PROCEEDINGS
FOR DOLE ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council adopted Resolution No. 6101 on
May 18, 1981, initiating preliminary proceedings for the Dole Annexation and applied
to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Marin County for determination thereon;
and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission by Resolution No. 81-21,
adopted July 30, 1981, made determinations and approved said annexation with the
addition of the adjacent McNear Beach County Park and Draper parcels (County Assessor's
Parcels 184-030-01, 04, 05, 16, 17 and 184-010-49, 50, 53).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
A. Preliminary proceedings were commenced by this Council on May 18, 1981;
B. The territory to be annexed has been designated the "Dole Annexation"
and its boundaries are as set forth in Exhitit A, legal description, attached; to
be amended to include also the McNear Beach County Park and Draper parcels (County
Assessor's Parcels 184-030-01, 04, 05, 16, 17 and 184-010-49, 50, 53);
C. The territory is inhabited;
D. The reasons for the proposed annexation are that the area is adjacent
to the City, primary access is through the City; municipal services can be provided
effectively and economically by the City; and the annexation assures new development
in conformance with the Peacock Gap Neighborhood Plan, adopted by this Council
December 15, 1980;
E. The Local Agency Formation Commission amended the annexation proposal
to indlude the adjacent McNear Beach County Park and Draper parcels, and this is
acceptable to the Council;
F. The City as conducting authority will complete annexation proceedings;
G. Public hearing on the proposed annexation is set for Tuesday,
September 8, 1981, at 8:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1400 Fifth Avenue,
San Rafael, California;
H. Any owner of land within the territory or any registered voter
residing within the territory may file a written protest against the annexation
with the City Clerk at the San Rafael City Hall, in the form specified by Government
Code Sections 35205 and 35225, at any time prior to conclusion of the September 8,
1981, hearing or continuation thereof.

DOLE/SAN MARINO COURT/MMW D ANNEXATION
DESCRIPTION
Beginning at a point on the center line of San Marino Drive as said center line is
shown on the Map of Marin Bay Unit One as recorded on September 22, 1960 in Book
10 of Recorded Maps at Page 78, Marin County Records, said point being the tangent
point of the courses of said center line described respectively as a line bearing
North 39°30' East having a distance of 390 feet and a curve concave to the Southeast
having a radius of 150 feet, a central angle of 56°04'05" and a length of 146.79
feet; proceeding thence Easterly along said curve a distance of 146.79 feet to a
point of reverse curvature; thence Easterly along said reverse curve, concave to
the North, with a radius of 240 feet, through a central angle of 18°43'13", for a
distance of 78.41 feet as said curve is shown and described on the Map of Bahia
Vista Unit One as recorded on September 27, 1961 in Book 10 of Recorded Maps at
Page 125 of Marin County Records, to the common point of the center line of San
Marino Court, as shown on above mentioned Map of Bahia Vista Unit One, and the
Easterly line of Point San Pedro Road, said Easterly line being the Limits Line
of the City of San Rafael as generally described in the McNear Ranch Annexation as
certified by the Secretary of State on November 3, 1955, said Point San Pedro Road
being known as the County Road leading to Santa Venetia, and said common point being
the True Point of Beginning of this description;
-hence Troyo said True Point of Beginning Southerly along said Easterly Line of
Point San Pedro Road, said Limits Line, and the Westerly boundary of aforementioned
Nap of Bahia Vista Unit One 141.55 feet to the Southwesterly corner of said Bahia
Vista Unit One; thence continuing Southerly along said Easterly line and said Limits
Line, and alone the Westerly boundary line of Parcel One of the Lands of Dole as
said Lands are described in the deed from Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank
to Stuart R. Dile, Trustee as recorded on December 31, 1979 in Book 3662 of .Official Recorc
at Page 139 of Marin County Records, 780 feet, more or less, to the intersection of
the Easterly line of Point San Pedro Road and the Northerly line of Canters Way
(known previously as the main travelled road between Point San Pedro and San Rafael
and also as Quarry Road), which point is also the most Southwesterly corner of the
aforementioned Parcel One of the Lands of Dole, said point being distant North
27°26'12" East 50.891 feet (described as North 27°34'50" East 50.89 feet in said
deed) from the intersection of the center lines of Point San Pedro Road and Canters
Way; thence leaving said Easterly line and said Limits Line of the City of San
Rafael North 63°33'28" East 883.016 feet along the Northerly line of Cantera Way
as said line is described in Book 12 of Official Surveys at Page 17 of Marin County
Records, said line being also the Southerly boundary line of the aforementioned
Parcel One of the Lands of Dole and described in said deed as North 62°23'20" East
883.07 feet; thence continuing along the Northerly Line of Cantera Way and said
Southerly boundary line North 75°21'28" East 13.999 feet (North 74°11'30" East,
14.00 feet in said deed); thence leaving the Northerly line of Cantera Way and along
the common boundary line between Parcel Two of the aforementioned Lands of Dole and
the Lands of the County of Marin, commonly known as McNears Beach Park, as described
in Book 12 of Official Records at Page 17 of Marin County Records, North 33°4958"

Radius of 279.983 feet, through a central angle of 60°10'00", a distance of 294.012

the West, having a radius of 189.988 feet, through a central angle of 52°25'00",
a distance of 173.809 feet; thence along a line tangent to the preceeding course
