HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 6097RESOLUTION NO. 6097 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF MARIN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXTEND THE EXISTING URBAN THOROUGHFARE AGREEMENT WITHOUT MODIFICATION WHEREAS, the establishment of a system of major urban thoroughfares serving all areas of the County of Marin, without regard to jurisdictional boundaries, will promote increased safety and provide for more efficient intra -City circulation, and WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has concluded that the existing cooperative program of improvement of an urban thoroughfare system has been of mutual benefit to the County of Marin and all Cities in said County; and WHEREAS, there is a need to continue this cooperative program of improvements to the Urban Thoroughfare system, and WHEREAS, the agreement which provides the funding for the system is due to expire July 1, 1982 and may be amended during 1981 by the Marin County Board of Supervisors; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael requests the Marin County Board of Supervisors hereby extend the existing "Agreement for Improvement of Urban Thoroughfare System" dated July 1, 1977 for an additional five years without modification to the present allocation of 500 of County road funds to said system as specified in Paragraph 2, Page 2 of said agreement. I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 4th day of May, 1981, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS:Breiner, Jensen, Miskimen & Mayor Mulryan NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Nixon AI JE E M.
