RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL ENDORSING AND ASSISTING
THE MARIN GOVERNMENT SCHOLAR PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council recognizes a need for
increased public interest, understanding, and participation in the
affairs of local goverment, and;
WHEREAS, this Council further recognizes that the young
voter is more likely to understand and participate in the activities
of local government and thereby broaden the positive attitudes of
the young voter when offered special educational opportunities to do
so, and;
WHEREAS, this Council is interested in the implementation
of a new voter educational program available to local high schools;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Council fully endorses
and supports the Marin Government Scholar Program and commends all
those taking part in the program;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council will assist
the program by a donation of $200.00 to help meet expenses.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on Monday, the 21st day of September, 1981, by the
following vote, to wit:
