CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESGUITION DE 11PPRECIRTION
TO
NOVATO FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
WHEREAS, on January 1, 1980, the City of San Rafael initiated Paramedic
Service to the residents of Paramedic Service Area B; and
WHEREAS, on the third call of the evening, while transporting a patient
Code 3 in the Paramedic Ambulance to the receiving hospital,
the ambulance was involved in an accident with a drunk driver;
and
WHEREAS, the ambulance received extensive damage, causing it to be out of
service for two and one-half months and requiring that the City
obtain a back-up ambulance; and
WHEREAS, the Novato Fire Protection District offered the City of San
Rafael their reserve ambulance, allowing the City to continue
Paramedic Service to its residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council extends their sincere
appreciation to the Novato Fire Protection District for their
unselfish gesture of loaning the City of San Rafael an ambulance,
which enabled the City to continue uninterrupted Paramedic
Service to its residents.
