HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5899RESOLUTION NO. 5899 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF A CONTRACT, LEASE OR AGREEMENT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows: The MAYOR and CITY CLERK are authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of San Rafael, a contract, lease or agreement with RALPH ANDERSEN & ASSOCIATES, FOR EXECUTIVE SEARCH RECRUITMENT SERVICES - CITY MANAGER/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION a copy of which is hereby attached and by this reference made a part hereof. I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly intro- duced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday the - 19 80 , by the following vote, to wit: fifth day of May AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Miskimen, Nixon & Mayor Mulryan NOES: COUNCILMEA113ERS : Jensen ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None JANE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk RALPH ANDERSEN ANDASSOCIATES PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGREEMENT Ralph Andersen and Associates agrees to provide the following services to the City of San Rafael in conjunction with their recruitment for the position of City Manager: 1_ Mept with the Mayor and members of the City Council for purposes of determining the concept of the position and what personal and other qualifications are most important for applicants to possess. 2. Prepare and place advertisements for the position of City Manager in appropriate publications. Prepare a list of outstanding potential applicants for the position of City Manager. Prepare a letter of invitation to be mailed by the City to each potential applicant, and personally follow up the by discussing the overall job opportunity with each person invited to apply. Conduct appropriate background checks, other than police and credit checks. 7. Brief the City Council regarding the nature of all appli- cations received, and overall screening results. Prepare a final list of applicants recommended for personal inter- view by the City Council. 8. In cooperation with City staff, arrange for interview of finalists. 9. Prepare an interview booklet containing background infor- mation on each finalist, interview rating sheets, and suggested questions and areas of discussion for the inter- view. 10. Prepare a letter for the City advising all unsuccessful applicants of the results. For the services to be rendered pursuant to this agreement, the City of San Raf aei agrees to compensate Raipn Andersen and Associates the fixed amount of $6,000. It is understood that the only charges for which the City assumes responsibility, in addition to the fixed fee, are reimbursement for out-of- pocket expenses incurred by Ralph Andersen and Associates for items such as travel, long-distance telephone, copying charges, and placement of advertise- ments.
