A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
ESTABLISHING RATES FOR SAN RAFAEL TAXICABS, INC.
WHEREAS, San Rafael Taxicabs, Inc., has submitted a rate increase
request for consideration; and
WHEREAS, the rate increase was deemed to be justified;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City Council that:
1. Rates be established at (a) $1.20 for the first 2/10 of a mile
and (b) $1.20 for each subsequent mile charged at the rate of
x.24 for each 2/10 of a mile, and (c) $12.00 per hour for waiting
time.
2. The new rates would be effective when the majority of the cities
in Marin County also approve this request.
3. The present policy of selling discount tickets through the
Whistlestop Program be continued and re-evaluated in six months.
4. The availability of senior citizens' discount tickets will be
displayed in every cab.
5. The present level of service not be diminished.
6. Entertain no further rate increase request before May 1, 1981, for
an effective date no earlier than July 1, 1981, to be accompanied
by:
a. An outside opinion audit by a certified public accountant
firm covering at least two full years of operation.
b. A cost analysis in a form satisfactory to joint City
staff comparing and projecting present overall vehicle
costs (used vehicle acquisition, rebuilding, maintenance,
fuel cost, proportion of CNG vs. gasoline use, deprecia-
tion, etc.) vs. overall costs were 50-75% of the fleet
made up of new, high -mileage vehicles, either diesel fuel
or gasoline -powered (e.g. Austin diesels as in the
United Kingdom, VW diesel Rabbits, etc.

I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on
Monday , the 16th day of June , 1980, by the following vote,
to wit:
