HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5942RESOLUTION NO. 5942 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF A CONTRACT, LEASE OR AGREEMENT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows: The MAYOR and CITY CLERK are authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of San Rafael, a contract, lease or agreement with Falkirk Community Cultural Center - Approval of fee schedule. a copy of which is hereby attached and by this reference made a part hereof. I, JEANNE M. Individuals and community groups are encouraged to use Falkirk on a reservation fee basis. FEE SCHlMUIM GROUP DESCRIPTION FEE I Officially sponsored by City of San Rafael None II Non-profit resident organizations $3.50 per hour per roam or terrace $5.00 grounds - Flat Fee III Residents $7.50 per hour per room or terrace $10.00 grounds - Flat Fee IV Nun residents and commercial groups $15.00 per hour per room or terrace $20.00 grounds - Flat Fee 1. Fees are for a two-hour minimum. 2. Non-profit resident organization must use Falkirk for a non -fundraising event to be eligible for Group II. If it is a fundraiser, or admission charged, the classification is Group III. 3. To be considered a San Rafael resident, individuals must reside within city limits. For organizations or groups, San Rafael residency is established by having a San Rafael mailing address, as well as proof that 50% of their members live within San Rafael city limits. 4. Any governmental tax -supported agency located in Marin which does not fall under Groups I or II, qualifies as Group III. 5. All events for business or commercial use, for profit or gain, qualify as Group IV. 6. $100 refundable Cleaning and Damage Deposit must accompany application. ADDITIONAL FEES 1. The Kitchen is available for $15 flat fee. 2. Evening and weekend hours require an additional $10.00 per hour charge which is to cover ndadnistrative costs, utilities, and a required staff attendant. This rate will be doubled for each hour,` exceeding an 8 hour netiod. 3. The Bride's Dressing Roan is available for a $15.00 flat fee. 4. The Piano is available for a $15.00 flat fee. City is not responsible for tuning. APPLICATION FEES 1. Reservations will be accepted 6 months in advance. All fees and insurance forms (and ABC permit when required) are due 10 days prior to the event. 2. Hours of use stated on the application permit must include set-up time as well as clean-up time. 3. Application permits are non -transferable. 4. All applicants must comply with the State alcoholic beverage policy if alcoholic beverages are to be sold. 5. Reservations for use of the Center by youth groups must be conpleted by an adult sponsor. 6. At the discretion of the Center Director, security or police officers may be required. 7. The applicants whose signature appears on the registration form should arrive at the starting time designated and should plan to be present until the end of the event. If the applicant cannot be present, he should designate an individual or caterer and place that name on the application. S. All facilities must be left in the same condition as before the event started. If additional clean-up is required, all or a portion of the deposit will be retained and the user will be charged for all extra costs required. 9. If alcoholic beverage is being served the applicant must provide a Certificate of Insurance stating that the event is covered for a minimum of $100,000 public liability insurance. The City of San Rafael must be named as an additional insured. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS IXXI FALKIRK HOUSE AND GROUNDS 1. No smoking is allowed inside the house. If not enforced, deposit may be withheld. 2. No tape, adhesives, nails, scrows, staples, tacks, or pins are allowed in/or on walls, woodwork, or windows. 3. Permanent interior furnishings are not to be moved. 4. Curtains and drapes are not to be rearranged and windows are to be opened by staff only. 5. The costs of any special cleaning of furnishings, due to the event, will be charged to the applicant. 6. Chairs and tables are not allowed on lawn areas. 7. Neither birdseed nor rice is allowed to be thrown at weddings. 8. Fifty percent of deposit will be retained if event is cancelled ten days or more before the event. If the event is cancelled less than ten days before the event, all monies paid will be retained. 9. Reservations may be revoked at any time whenever the use of building or facilities may interfere with department program activities or when there has been a violation of approved regulations. 10. Direct amplified music is not allowed in house. 11. City reserves the right to make any physical changes to the interior and grounds due to renovation, improvements or special events.
