POLICE OFFICER JONATHAN [SEAN
1'iHE,REAS, POLICE OFFICER JONATHAN BEAN, while in performance
of his duty, observed evidence of fire in the Wilkins
Hotel, 1135 Fourth Street, at 3:00 A.M. on August 22,
1980; and
W HI,REAS , OFFICER BEAN found the fire n nd observed that a
person was in a briskly burning apartment; and
WHEREAS, OFFICER BEAN forced entry into the apartment and
alone, working through smoke and flame, carried and
dragged the inert victim from the fire; and
11;11FREAS, OFFICER BEAN dared to act under circumstances
personally perilous and beyond the requirements of
his assignment to help a citizen in distress;
NOW, THEREFORE, 3R IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
San Rafael, by adoption of this Resolution, thanks
POLICE OFFICER JONATHAN [SEAN for his heroic efforts
to save a citizen's life.
