RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL ESTABLISHING TWO TAXICAB PARKING
SPACES ON THE EAST SIDE OF TAMALPAIS AVENUE
IMMEDIATELY SOUTH OF FOURTH STREET
WHEREAS, Section 5.40.170 of the San Rafael Municipal Code
provides that the City Council shall, by resolution, establish taxicab
stands and determine the locations thereof; and
WHEREAS, due to recent roadway construction on Third Street,
four taxicab parking spaces had to be removed in the vicinity of Third
Street and Tamalpais Avenue; and
WHEREAS, because of the recent loss of said parking spaces,
San Rafael Taxicab, Inc. has petitioned the Council for two new parking
spaces on the east side of Tamalpais Avenue immediately south of Fourth
Street; and
WHEREAS, upon investigation, City staff have determined that
two taxicab parking spaces could be accommodated on Tamalpais Avenue,
and the creation of said parking spaces appears justified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of San Rafael that two curb -side taxicab stands on the east side
of Tamalpais Avenue immediately south of Fourth Street are hereby
established.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that use of said taxicab stands by
San Rafael Taxicabs, Inc. is subject to the annual payment of $250
for each stand by said taxicab company.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
California, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council
of said City held on the 15th day of January, 1979, by the following
vote, to wit:
