A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE OPERATION OF THE SECTION 312 REHABILITATION
LOAN PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 312 of the Housing Act of
1964, as amended, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is
authorized to provide federal rehabilitation loans to property owners through
local governments and public agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the County of Marin on behalf of
the County of Marin, is operating a rehabilitation loan program with limited
Community Development Block Grant funds in designated communities and
unincorporated areas; and,
WHEREAS, it is the determination of the County of Marin that the
County should participate in the Section 312 loan program in order to provide
additional rehabilitation loan funds for the elimination of sub -standard
housing conditions in the designated communities and unincorporated areas; and,
WHEREAS, the County of Marin through the Housing Authority wishes to
operate the Section 312 program within the corporate limits of the City of
San Rafael; and,
WHEREAS, operation of this program within the City of San Rafael
would be consistent with the Housing Element of the City and County General
Plans;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL that:
The Housing Authority of the County of Marin is hereby authorized to
operate the Section 312 Rehabilitation Loan Program within the corporate limits
of the City of San Rafael in the Canal area.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on Monday the f ifth day of February ,
19 79 , by the following vote, to wit:
