RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
IN SUPPORT OF THE ABANDONED AUTOMOBILE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the State of California is presently reviewing
its budget for the coming fiscal year; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that one area for consideration of
economy is the abandoned vehicle program; and,
WHEREAS, this program has been highly successful in
counties such as Marin where many abandoned vehicles have
accumulated over the years and are continuing to be abandoned; and,
WHEREAS, this program has removed hundreds of such
vehicles at little direct cost to the public and with the end
result of beautification enhancement and overall environmental
improvement; and,
WHEREAS, urban areas should not witness such blight and
areas with natural beauty should be enhanced for the enjoyment
of the entire public and the abandoned vehicle program serves
to create such enhancement; and,
WHEREAS, this City Council is highly supportive of the
abandoned vehicle program.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the San Rafael City
Council indicates its support for maintenance of the abandoned
vehicle program at its present level.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San
Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday
