RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL AMENDING THE SAN RAFAEL GENERAL PLAN
BY ADDING THERETO THE GERSTLE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN
WHEREAS, in 1974 the City of San Rafael adopted a General Plan that set
forth "Neighborhood Planning" as Basic Policy 9; and
WHEREAS, beginning in 1974 and continuing since then the City has worked
with the resident and non-resident owners, renters, and local representative groups
to develop a plan for the Gerstle Park Neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of San Rafael has properly
advertised and held public hearings on said plan and has recommended by Resolution
No. 79-4 adopted in regular meeting on February 27, 1979 the "Gerstle Park Neighbor-
hood Plan - Report No. 36-d", attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and that said plan be
added to the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael City Council has properly advertised and held a
public hearing on said plan and found that it would benefit both that neighborhood
and the City as a whole, and thereby implement the intent of the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Planning Commission has favorably recommended and
the San Rafael City Council has reviewed, considered and certified the Negative
Declaration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San
Rafael that the San Rafael General Plan be amended to add thereto as Chapter IX the
Gerstle Park Neighborhood Plan.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the Council of the City held on the 5th day of March, 1979,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Miskimen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
