A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
STATING ITS INTENT
TO AMEND THE LAND USE MAP DESIGNATION FOR PROPERTY
GENERALLY LOCATED SOUTH OF LUCAS VALLEY AND
WEST OF LOS GAMOS ROAD
WHEREAS, certain property, identified on attached Exhibit A, located generally
south of Lucas Valley Road and west of Los Gams Road is currently designated "Residen-
tial and Open Space Review Area: Undeveloped Land"; and
WHEREAS, the property owner has requested an amendment to redesignate a
portion of the property "Multi -Use Activity Center"; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a duly noticed public hearing
pursuant to the requirements of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has found that the change to Multi -Use
Activity Center is not inconsistent with other General Plan Goals and Policies;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has found that the Multi -Use Activity Center
designation is compatible with the site, surrounding land uses and surrounding land
use designations; and
WHEREAS, after review and consideration of the Planning Commission's decision and
the Staff report and documents relating to this matter, the City Council has found
that the Multi -use Activity Center designation is compatible with the site,
surrounding land uses, and surrounding land use designations; and
WHEREAS, State law determines that the General Plan can only be amended three
times within a 12 month period; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines that this amendment is of a minor nature
and can be consolidated with other such amendments;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES its
intention to amend the Land Use Element Map of the General Plan to include the designa-
tion as described on attached Exhibit "A".
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael hereby certify
that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regularmeeting of the City Council of said City held on Monday , the 19th day
of March , 1979, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Jensen
