HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5661RESOLUTION NO. 5661 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO APPROVE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW NORTHBOUND ON-P.AMP TO ROUTE 101 AT THE LUCAS VALLEY INTERCHANGE WHEREAS, substantial traffic congestion is occurring in the vicinity of Route 101 and the Lucas Valley Road Interchange in the City of San Rafael, with additional traffic problems predicted for the future; and WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael and the State of California have entered into an agreement to modify said interchange at Route 101 and Lucas Valley Road; and WHEREAS, said modifications did not include funding for the construction of a northbound on-ramp to Route 101 at Lucas Valley Road; and WHEREAS, said northbound on-ramp is shown in the ultimate geometrics of the Lucas Valley Road Interchange as an integral part of the ultimate interchange design; and WHEREAS, financing for said northbound on-ramp has been offered at no cost to the State of California through the levy of a supplemental assessment under the Smith Ranch Assessment District; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Rafael to respectfully request the State of California, Depart- ment of Transportation, to approve the construction of a new northbound on-ramp to Route 101 at the Lucas Valley Road Interchange, and to further request that construction of said northbound on-ramp begin as soon as possible. I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 16th day of April, 1979, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Breiner, Jensen, Nixon and Mayor Mulryan NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Miskimen JQC-4� ANNE M.
