A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL SUPPORTING FEDERAL AGING PROGRAMS.
WHEREAS, on October 18, 1978, Congress passed a series of amendments
to the Older Americans Act which were so extensive as to constitute a new
act; and
WHEREAS, the thrust of these amendments is to mandate programs
to assist older Americans to remain in their communities; and
WHEREAS, the current level of funding passed by Congress does
not provide sufficient resources to implement federal mandates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the San Rafael City Council
that -it favors Congress passing adequate federal appropriations to take
the place of the continuing resolution for the remainder of fiscal year
1979.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that adequate funding be made available
for the Older Americans Act in 1980.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on
Monday, the 7th day of May 1979, by the following vote, to wit:
