RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL DECLARING ITS
INTENT TO PREPARE A NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN FOR THOSE NEIGH-
BORHOODS DESIGNATED 13 AND 14 IN THE 1974 GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the General Plan of the City of San Rafael adopted by the San
Rafael City Council on October 21, 1974, called for development of specific neigh-
borhood plans; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the neighborhood plan was to recognize and preserve
the unique character of the thirty neighborhoods designated for the San Rafael
Planning Area; and
WHEREAS, Neighborhoods 13 and 14 are now facing major developments; and
WHEREAS, no neighborhood plan has been prepared for either Neighborhood
13 or 14; and
WHEREAS, Neighborhoods 13 and 14 are closely aligned and the questions
relating to development are interrelated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council declares
its intent to develop a neighborhood plan for those neighborhoods designated 13
and 14 within the 1974 General Plan; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff is directed to report back to the
City Council on the appropriate and most efficient method of completing this
neighborhood plan; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council states its willingness to
work closely with the various neighborhood associations represented within Neigh-
borhoods 13 and 14 so that the neighborhood plan will reflect the interest of that
community in conjunction with the overall goals of the San Rafael General Plan.
